A place to study and play
Support of more than 2'000 refugee children
In 2020, nearly 16,000 refugees and migrants arrived in Greece by land and sea.
Of those, more than a third were children. On the Island of Lesbos, SOS Children's Villages Greece supported some 2,250 children in the Kara Tepe refugee camp last year.
In our child-friendly space, the SOS team provided: • a kindergarten for small children • classes in Greek and English, math and science • special education for children with autism and learning difficulties • recreational and sports activities To learn, play and stay safe, children at the KareTepe space received school supplies, toys, masks and healthy snacks.
