Since it opened in spring 2024, the AnkerFamilie has offered six children aged one to five years protection, stability and reliable relationships. What makes it special: The places are specially designed for siblings. The fact that they can stay together gives the children stability and security and strengthens their emotional bond in an often stressful life situation.

Creating trust and security

The AnkerFamilie provides support for children who have had stressful experiences at an early age and can no longer live with their family of origin. They experience security and reliability in a loving, manageable environment. A team of nine specialists ensures that each child has one or more permanent caregivers. "The children feel at home and call the AnkerFamilie their home," says Isabell Bold, team coordinator at SOS Children's Villages Hamburg. Such stable relationships are a key foundation for healthy development.

Structured everyday life and individual support

Closeness, rituals and clear structures give the children orientation and support in their everyday lives. Shared meals, visits to the daycare center, fixed play times and lots of outdoor exercise characterize the daily routine. At the same time, the team specifically addresses the individual needs of the children, for example with speech therapy for speech problems or occupational therapy to promote motor skills.

Closeness and professionalism

The AnkerFamilie combines human warmth with professional expertise. The children are accompanied by people with whom their trust can grow and their personality can develop. The team regularly reflects on its work and continuously adapts it to the needs of the children. Moments when children are happy to come "home" to the AnkerFamilie are particularly touching.
