SOS Children's Village takes over care

Ukrainian children in safety

On March 23, more than 100 children and their caregivers arrived in Tyrol at SOS Children's Villages.

The evacuation and transfer to Tyrol was organized by the Ukrainian Embassy in Austria. In close cooperation with the province of Tyrol, the children are now being accommodated, cared for - including health care - and looked after at the respective SOS locations in the Tyrolean districts.

The team around SOS Children's Village director Wolfram Brugger and many helping hands at various levels have been working under high pressure to ensure that we can now take in and welcome the first children!

SOS Children's Village Director Wolfram Brugger is grateful and moved: "The children and young people can now feel safe after their bitter experiences in their home country and the arduous flight and journey to Tyrol and can recover from the hardships. This and the protection of the children is now the most important thing."

As already communicated, the exact location for the protection and welfare of the children will not be disclosed for the time being, as it is important that the children can come to rest after what they have experienced.
