Albania as a focal point: How our family support is changing lives

Many families in Albania live in difficult conditions. Rural regions in particular lack prospects, education and income. Poverty is high, unemployment affects young people in particular and many children are affected by violence, exclusion or child labor.

This is precisely where we come in: With our family aid in Tirana and Shkodra, we support children, young people and parents on their way to a self-determined life. These are concrete measures that bring about real change.

• Enabling education: Children receive school materials, targeted learning support and development-supporting therapies. This is how we create the basis for a better future.

• Strengthening parents: In parent training sessions, mothers and fathers learn how to guide their children in a loving and non-violent way. The focus is on topics such as child protection, self-care and positive parenting.

• Creating career prospects: Adults are given access to vocational training, income support and social counseling. This ensures greater stability and independence.

• Working together: By working closely with local communities and NGOs, we promote integration, equality and mental health. Particularly popular: the "Fathers' Club" - a self-help group that actively involves men in parenting.
