In her role, H.E. Tatjana von Lattorff is keen to get to know the SOS Children's Villages projects personally. In 2019, she visited the SOS Children's Village and the Moosburg crisis residential group in Austria, which offers acutely endangered children protection and a temporary place to stay.
Her commitment to children in need was also evident after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine: in March 2022, Princess Tatjana visited the child protection center set up by SOS Children's Villages at Vienna Central Station. There, refugee children found a safe place to rest and play after the ordeal of fleeing. "You can tell that many children are traumatized," she noted, emphasizing the importance of this retreat.
Patron Tatjana von Lattorff was also left with a lasting impression by her visit to the SOS Children's Villages vocational training center in Berlin in November 2023. She was convinced that this offer helps young people to develop their full potential and make an important contribution to society, especially when it comes to making challenging career choices without parental guidance.
